How the licence counts.
- Who counts as a user?
- Anyone with an account that can sign in to your KyoubeAI instances. AI employees and other automated accounts never count, however many you run.
- What counts as production use?
- Using KyoubeAI for your organisation's real work. Trying it out, developing on it and testing it are free at any size.
- What else will I pay for?
- Your model usage, billed by Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter or whichever provider you connect. On the Community and Self-hosted plans you also run the server.
- Can I read and change the code?
- Yes. KyoubeAI is source-available under the Business Source License 1.1, and each version becomes available under the Apache License 2.0 four years after it is published.
- Can I host KyoubeAI for other organisations?
- Not under the Community licence. Offering KyoubeAI to others as a hosted, managed or embedded service needs a commercial licence, so talk to us first.
